Business Development Director

The Netherlands / Home-based 

The Opportunity

Due to continuing growth and demand our client, a global market leader in the Sponsorship sector, is looking for an experienced Business Development Director to further develop their business across Europe, primarily within the Netherlands, Belgium, the Nordic countries and the UK.

Our client works with well-established brands across the globe. Their SaaS based software enables companies to make better decisions in sponsoring by managing incoming requests, assessing current portfolios and delivering expert reports, so enabling the user to carry out the ongoing administration of sponsorship efforts with enhanced efficiency, clarity and ease.

In addition, it is a highly effective negotiation and management tool that ultimately helps to determine Return on Objectives (ROO) and to develop a better all-round brand.

This will be a home based, self employed role, with extensive travel. The candidate will preferably be based in the Netherlands or Belgium.

The ideal Candidate

Has a background in the Sponsorship/Branding sectors or has worked for a Sponsorship Agency/Consultancy.

  • 8 years + experience
  • Is well connected across Europe with a well-groomed and current contact base.
  • Must be able to operate at C-level.
  • Has a customer centric mind-set.
  • Has a proven business development approach.
  • Is a proven deal closer and win-win-oriented.
  • Must be flexible and willing to travel throughout Europe
  • Has a willingness to operate with a high degree of autonomy
  • Likes to bring a fun element to their work.
  • Must be fluent in English and preferably Dutch
  • Should be self-motivated, passionate, honest, loyal, fair and have human values.

An attractive fixed remuneration is offered together with an exceptional commision based scheme. There is no cap on earnings potential.

Once recruited

You will fly to Montréal for a company-funded 7-day training on product and sales strategy and tactics to bring you up to speed with the company’s USP‘s and become fully aligned with their best practices.

In addition, you will have regular meetings with the CEO and Directors from other territories, along with annual customer forums in locations such as London, New York, Sao Paulo, Montréal and Melbourne.

This position is only open to individuals in possession of full EU working rights.
